A digital marketing outlook and what to expect from the industry ecosystem at large in 2016/ 17

UNO Digital loves what SoDA do. The SoDA 2016 came out in May, so we’re a little behind the curve on this one – but, then again, we’re all about transparency, so there’s that. The report is packed with survey data extracted from all over the industry, from both clients, agencies and consultancies, of which almost all the insights we’ve found are incredibly helpful and enlightening. Client-side respondents, as usual, were high-level business leaders including marketing directors with big budgets. The good news is these budgets are growing and being invested in digital.

Other key takeaways include:

  1. Innovation labs are proving effective for winning new business.
  2. Specialisation has lead to more clients hiring two or more agencies at a time (up from 1 in 4 in 2015 to 4 in 10 in 2016)
  3. 70% of brands want to been seen as early adopters, to maintain their current brand positioning
